Meeting with MMTC

A visit by the International Secretariat of MMTC at our ICYCW office in Rome. Accampained by Fr. Joan Ramon. With a special particpation of Fr. John. A good discussion was done on how to support each other for the Future of the world of work.


ICYCW participated in the International Conference on the theme “Religions and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Listening to the cry of the earth and of the poor”.

It was organised by the Department for the Integral Human Development Service and by the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, which took place in Vatican, at the New Synod Hall, from Thursday 7 to Saturday 9 March 2019.

Meeting with MIJARC

ICYCW had a meeting with MIJARC (Mouvement Internationale de la Jeunessse Agricole et Rurale Catholique) International President Krisnaker on 12th of March 2019. The agenda mainly focused on future work collaboration between the two movements. The possible common future work could be a focus on Catholic Social teaching of the church and climate change. Thank you Krisnaker for sharing the experience and stayed in our house.

11th International Youth Forum

International Coordination of Young Christian Workers  represented by Agnes Monicah (ICYCW General Secretary) participated in the 11th International Youth Forum, organized by the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life under the theme "Youth in Action in a synodal Church" which took place at Sassone di Ciampino, Rome, Italy from 19th-22nd of June 2019. The Synod process never comes to an end, this is a continuation of the Synod of Bishop that took place last year. We pray for fruitful deliberations


Follow up of the last international Council ICYCW gave an assignment for East Africa Regional Commission and YCW Malawi to do extension work and conduct training in Zambia from 3-4 May 2019. The team which composed of Opa Nyamulani, Fr Christopher Sichinga and Paul Chibwana. Training of the pioneers of YCW was done at St Anne`s Cathedral in Chipata diocese. This diocese was considered as the entry point of the movement. The training focused on: the history and structure of YCW and ICYCW, reality of ICYCW, Reality of YCW Malawi, value of YCW in the Church and society and methods of YCW.
