What we do
The 34th World Youth day was held in Panama from 22-27of January 2019. ICYCW participated as an international volunteer.
Alot of sharing among the young people was done, this gave ICYCW opportunity to get in touch with the young people around the world, thus this will help ICYCW in their future works of envangeliastaion to the young people around the whole world.
ICYCW participated in the International Conference on the theme “Religions and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Listening to the cry of the earth and of the poor”.
It was organised by the Department for the Integral Human Development Service and by the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, which took place in Vatican, at the New Synod Hall, from Thursday 7 to Saturday 9 March 2019.
ICYCW had a meeting with MIJARC (Mouvement Internationale de la Jeunessse Agricole et Rurale Catholique) International President Krisnaker on 12th of March 2019. The agenda mainly focused on future work collaboration between the two movements. The possible common future work could be a focus on Catholic Social teaching of the church and climate change. Thank you Krisnaker for sharing the experience and stayed in our house.
International Coordination of Young Christian Workers represented by Agnes Monicah (ICYCW General Secretary) participated in the 11th International Youth Forum, organized by the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life under the theme "Youth in Action in a synodal Church" which took place at Sassone di Ciampino, Rome, Italy from 19th-22nd of June 2019. The Synod process never comes to an end, this is a continuation of the Synod of Bishop that took place last year. We pray for fruitful deliberations
As the International Labour Organisation was celebrating 100 years, ICYCW was privileged to participate in the conference. ICYCW was joined with 2 delegates from YCW Catalonia and England and wales as an observer.
In addition to this, the common statement of the Catholic-Inspired organizations on Violence and harassment in the world of work was read on 10th June 2019 in the workers` group meetings
After two years of preparation, the REM (Reunion of European Militant) training and exchange program officially will start today the 26th July 2019. The participants are JOC Spain and Catalonia, Italy, England and Wales,France, CIJOC, Portugal and other invited guests arrived in Porto (at the venue) safely. We continue praying for the sucess of the training and exchange
